Consortium Scholars

The Consortium, through the funding of the Health Research Board (Ireland), the R&D Office (Northern Ireland), and the NCI, has provided sponsorship for over 100 cancer researchers, nurses, and other health care professionals on the island of Ireland. To date, over 50 cancer scientists have completed the NCI Summer Curriculum in Cancer Prevention courses and sixteen nurses have been training in the area clinical trials management and cancer care. This success exemplifies the potential of the Consortium to enhance the infrastructure for cancer research and cancer care across the island through the development and professional training of Irish, Northern Irish, and U.S. scientists and scholars.
