Health Economics and Cancer Policy Analysis

In recent years, the need to increase research capacity in health economics and cancer health policy research has been identified by the ministries of health of Ireland and Northern Ireland as a priority to improving the quality of cancer care on the island of Ireland. As a result, health economics and cancer policy analysis were added to the renewed Memorandum of Understanding, signed in Belfast on November 13, 2006.

The Consortium has sponsored several health economic initiatives since 2006. These include workshops in the U.S. and the island of Ireland, as well as the HRB/NCI Health Economics Fellowship in Cancer Program. These initiatives are intended to address the need for training in the area of health economics and health policy analysis on the island of Ireland. More information can be found below.
