Health Economics Workshop - May 21-22, 2007

Under the auspices of the All-Ireland NCI Cancer Consortium, the NCI organized an All-Ireland Health Economics workshop on May 21-22, 2007 to facilitate information sharing on potential areas of health economics and health policy research between Consortium participants and NCI faculty/grantees with relevant expertise and experience in this area. The goal of the workshop was to determine specific research topics for Irish and Northern Irish fellows, and identify potential projects and venues where Irish and Northern Irish fellows may participate in research and receive mentoring. The meeting was structured to allow for substantial interchange between the U.S. and all-Ireland participants on the similarities and differences in regard to policy questions, organization of healthcare services, and data sources between the national settings.
